Hey guys, if you could help me out that would be awesome. This summer my friend will be attending his first half of PLC. Right now he is a freshman attending a civilian school. I was just wondering if any of you had any more information about PLC. Thanks for everything.

Please take the time to check out all of the threads under this topic. This will save us reiterating what's already been stated. It sounds as if your friend will be attending PLC-Jrs. A six week session in beautiful swampside Quantico! Have your friend register at Marine OCS Foundation http://www.marineocs.com/portal/index.php also. It's all about prospectives, currents, and some graduates of Marine Corps OCS. Also, go to http://www.ocs.usmc.mil/ for the latest gouge. Good luck to your friend...really, it isn't easy.

When do you sign up for PLC? I thought i was for the summer bewteen junior/senior year?

I didn't receive an NROTC scholarship but I am going to attempt to pick one up for my last 3 years of college.

If I am unsuccessful however I will attempt PLC. However I am not too well educated on the facts about the program.

What is the best way to talk to someone about the program? A recruiter or perhaps an NROTC officer at my intended college?

Nick, I would speak to the Marine Officer who is assigned to your NROTC unit first. They would have the best contact information regarding the Officer Selection Officer (OSO) in your area and all the other information that you will need.

FYI - Almost all OSO's are assigned to Marine Recruiting STATIONS...not to be confused with substations which seem to be in just about every neighborhood these days.

You can find the recruiting stations here: https://www.marines.usmc.mil/PA_NEW/MCRC_PA_STAGE_00.html

Platoon Leaders Class (PLC) is either two 6-week programs called PLC Juniors and Seniors or a single 10-week program called PLC Combined in which undergraduate college students attend OCS during their summer break. Candidates cannot enroll in PLC Seniors without succesfully completing the Juniors course. Upon successful completion of OCS, these officer candidates return to their respective colleges to finish their degree requirements before receiving a commission.

Officer Candidates Course (OCC) is a 10-week commissioning program for those who already hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. OCC classes are held three times a year, in fall, winter, and summer.

All the above information was gotten at http://www.ocs.usmc.mil/?dest=progs

thank you very much for the links and info!
