Please clarify DoDMERB status....

I've read so much that I can't keep it straight between the 2 portals. Does this mean DS IS being considered for a waiver? Or just that he made it through the remedials and maybe USAFA isn't even looking at him because they only consider waivers, at this point, for candidates that they are very interested in?

He is or will be considered for a waiver. All "competitive" applicants to a SA are considered for a waiver. You can not tell from the portal status the difference between "the file has been sent to the SA" and the "file is being reviewed by the SA".

Therefore, if he was not competitive, he wouldn't have been put in the "pending waiver submission/review " status?

His USAFA portal status changed to complete but disqualified about 2 weeks ago.

I know it's all just a guessing game at this point, but some how talking about it helps.

ie: DS didn't get a nomination to USMA and this is his status, so if USAFA wasn't considering him, it would say this?

From last year's experience your candidate portal will reflect the status of the waiver before DoDMERB. The commissioning source is the only person who can tell you if they are considering a waiver and each has a different criteria. DD's portal initially said not qualified and then West Point changed to waiver requested then finally to "Qualified". I think she also got a letter saying that her waiver was approved. Air Force never requested a waiver and ROTC took almost 9 months to request.

When I was Disqualified it changed to pending waiver submission/review before they decided to request a waiver. My USAFA portal changed and a letter popped up at the top saying they were requesting waiver. I would email admissions councilor they will have the most up to date information on where your DS stands.

Tnx for the info! DS did email his admissions counselor and ALO late this week. Hoping for good news and now we know where to look for it
