Plebe Candidate First Phone call home today

Just received a call from our son. Seemed to be in good spirits and sounded confident and said all was well. He did not need us to send anything at this time, other than some practice items for the sport he is playing. He is in 4th company.:thumb:
 
First Call-= SEND COOKIES!

Here's what we just learned about KINGS POINT:

1. "Food stinks, could you send cookies?"

2. "My drill instructor likes chocolate chip cookies" (I hear DI in the background telling him to say this - LOL)

3. "Marching stinks"

4. "There are about 50 kids in my platoon - send enough cookies for everyone- wait, better make sure to send extra"

5. "The sailing is GREAT"

6. "The upperclassemen are pretty cool, we make them laugh and they try not to"

7. "My roommate is great - he likes chocolate chip cookies, too"

8. "Oh, could you put in some Snickerdoodles, too?"

9. This place is GREAT!

There seems to be a common theme here...:rolleyes:
 
Thanks KDbax, I was racking my brain and it's the simple and heartfelt answer. He is our "Dear" son. There was no mention of any strife within company as we had very brief call. I'm sure they will all sort each other out and find how to work together for their common good!

Still waiting for a phone call! Does anyone one have any idea how late it could be??
 
We did not get a call during the second round of phone calls. Don't fret if this happens. We got a call a day later and were told that they were so busy during the day that there wasn't time to make phone calls home. I don't remember exactly what they were doing, but I do remember it was fun activities.

One of our calls was really late-close to 10 PM and there was 1 Sunday that he just forgot. :rolleyes:Things got better once they got their computers and could shoot a quick email or chat on Facebook.

Sometimes this is harder on the parents than the kids...just remember-no news is good news!
 
I wonder if our DD's and DS's are out on the water today since it looked like 3,4, and band were out yesterday....
 
Maybe ProudMom is right, as there have not been a whole lot of pictures of 1st and 2nd companies on the water...maybe they are out having fun...

Our DS is also in 4th company (401) and requested we send cookies. Sounded upbeat in phone call this morning.
 
Just got our call.... he sounded up beat and was chatting away! Only wanted a few things sent. And yes 1st company was out on the water today. not sure who else was out there.... that has got to have been the fastest 5 minutes in my life.
