I’ve been putting in a lot of running mileage for the past few months and have battled some blisters on/off.

For PS, am I allowed to bring blister patches that I use for the occasional blister or can they be mailed to me in a care package? Does anyone know if that would be permitted since it doesn’t exactly say ‘yes’ to it in the info booklet?

Thanks.

If you bring them, and you cannot have them, they will be stored with your stuff u til parents weekend.

Most likely there will be blister stuff in the supplies you receive. At the very least there will be bandaids.

Have your parents mail you some of your fav’s in the first care package. That you won’t receive for a bit (takes a while to sort through the influx initially). I would also toss in mole skin. It’s great for friction.

Got it, thank you!

That should be allowed. Detailers will hold it if not. When I was a detailer the only contraband I came across was caffeinated goodies and OTC meds and supplements. Basically anything in a pill or with drug facts is a no-go. Blister patches are fine.

Yes this is fine. Also you are issued moleskin on I-day as part of the medical stuff they give you. I still have some leftover from the summer

Bring it. Those Medical Corpsmen are not nurses... they may or may not have moleskins for blisters.

You are issued everything under the sun on I-day. You could show up with only the clothes on your back and be perfectly taken care of. You are issued multiple packs of moleskin and other first aid things, along with items like tooth brushes, peptobismal, tums, and much more. Mail is very slow coming in the first two-ish weeks of the PS so don’t expect to get anything quickly either.

Just one more thing to worry about charging/losing. You probably could, but you may not want to. Maybe during the academic year.

My kid showed up with the clothes on his back, his running shoes (on) and copies of his paperwork from the PTR. That's all you need (except ladies who may have specific undergarment needs - which they issue too! Just some prefer the fit and support of specific company products).

Ok, for parents who are medical doctors, physician assistants, and nurses, provide your kiddos with the necessary medications. I sincerely appreciate medical corpsmen in the yard but they don't have the same level of medical training as docs, pas, and nurses.

Make sure to read page 17 of the permit to report package (regarding medications) to ensure you are complying with the guidance. Specifically, OTC is not authorized.

Anyone know if Zyrtec is allowed? Is this something they can buy at the medical Brigade? I know it’s OTC but if it is taken daily for seasonal allergies (documented on DODMERB) can it be brought along with a doctors note(prescription)?

This is from the pamphlet --> Important Information for the Class of 2027.
"If you're taking medication prescribed by a physician, you must bring it with you on Iday. Medication must be in a labeled container and you must bring a note from the physician stating the name of medication, dosage, dates to be taken, and reason it was prescribed."

Thank you. I read this too and my DS also sent an email that was in the PTR packet but no response yet. Zyrtec is technically not a “prescription” but OTC so that’s where my question was…

Are mailed items like Airborne and Emergen-C confiscated?
