Plebe Summer Commandant

I got my PTR a little bit ago and have been looking through it. In the Important Information booklet, it says we need to know the Chain of Command, and it lists everyone, but under Commandant of Midshipmen, it says it will still be Colonel Liszewski, not Captain Chadwick, who I thought was becoming the new commandant in summer 17. Does the transition happen after Plebe Summer? Or is it possible Colonel Liszewski will have another year? Maybe just a mistake in the packet?

They probably had the packets already at the printer and proofed.

His dad was a USNA grad, a former RADM boss of mine when I was a mid-grade officer. I just saw it announced within the last week.

I see it was actually announced in the Annapolis paper back in Feb.

The reason his name doesn't show up is, I suspect, is an overabundance of caution. Things do happen to derail orders, both benign and otherwise.

I'm feeling old. His father Captain Steve Chadwick took over as Commandant my 1/C year in 1985. He was a great officer and I'm sure the brigade is in good hands with his son in the same position.

I think part of the reason is there might not be a set turnover/change-of-charge date. While it is ideal to have this happen before plebe summer, it doesn't necessarily have to happen. If I was a plebe-to-be, I would make sure to keep tuned to usna.edu and USNA's Facebook page to see if the chain-of-command changes prior to reporting.
