Plebe Summer Track meet Smoker

Curious if results (times, heights, distances...) of the Plebe Track Meet Smoker are posted anywhere. Or better yet, video?
After watching USA dominate at World Championship this past week I'm wanting more track & field :D ... I'd love to see how the plebe performances were especially with the stresses they have been under.
 
Companies pick who they want to run to represent them. By now they know who is a runner. My oldest ran. There will be pics all over.

The best part of the smokers are the crowds. The companies cheering on their mates. The signs they figured out how to make. I don’t *think* they had it the last two years. It’s a hoot!!

USNA has a fantastic track program. Mens and womens. Great indoor facilities, an hydraulically banked indoor track (state of the art). They have hosted Olympic athletes before. It’s a great program!

No it’s not live streamed and results are not posted. It’s not that serious of an event. But the pics you will see are awesome 👏

Yes very good teams, defending Patriot champs. Have seen teams in person compete at Penn Relays and Up at Lehigh several times. I saw pics of 2017 smoker & looks very serious. Real track officials running/officiating the events, plebes competing in their spikes. I was wondering if they'd even be allowed to wear spikes as the track was resurfaced 2 weeks ago.

I would assume this is the one PS activity that my then Plebe-to-be was actually looking forward to before Covid wiped it away.
 
My son is way out of his top high school shape, so wasn't going to run in any of the regular distance stuff. He was picked to run the steeple chase but said they were cancelling it, so he was just going to cheer on the side.

He is trying to run with the track/XC guys for his sports period, but he's really frustrated he is so far out of his peak shape where he would have easily been able to run with them. Sounds as if he is going to join the marathon club instead of trying out for the real team. D1 runners are no joke!!

The marathon team is very real. Many excellent ex-varsity XC runners are now on that team. Many impressive times at Boston this year.

Each year you will see less and less varsity runners on the XC roster. There may be 15+ Plebe runners, and then it drops each year. Some years you may see only 2 Firsties on the squad. Most times it comes down to time management, considering distance running is literally a year-round sport, and they are at N*t College.
 
They used to also have a boxing and a wrestling smoker. They are all huge morale/camaraderie events. They had them for the C/O ‘22 anyhow. Not sure about ‘23. Of course ’24 didn’t have any of them.

You can also check the individual sports social media pages. Sometimes they post things/pics for the events. I think I recall USNA wrestling held a FB live of the event for a bit back in 2018.

I don’t recall there being results posted anywhere. It’s not about the individual…it’s about the company. The company competes and the company wins.

You will have to ask you Mid. And unless they were the one competing, my guess is they won’t vane a clue who ‘won’. But they will tell you how much FUN it was!!! As a company!!
 
Track was just refurbished. Lots of smiles during the meet! My son said he had a bet with his detailer based on his 800m race on our Sunday call.

Get used to bets. DS won a few detailer t-shirts his plebe year for various feats, whether tied to his own efforts or not. Some of the payoffs are hilarious.
