It’s been about 3 months since we dropped our cadets off for Beast. The academic year and sports are in full swing. How is everyone’s cadet doing? What are they up to these days? Have they settled in to this new life they‘ve worked so hard to get to?

My DS is doing well. He’s constantly busy. Classes and his sport keep him going. We got to tailgate with him and a few friends last weekend and they were all very happy and have adjusted well. I’m a little worried about his friend from Texas, though. She thinks she needs a down parka when it goes below 50 degrees. I’m fairly certain she’s not going to like the cold. Would it be wrong of me to send her some warm fuzzy socks and cuddl duds for under her acu’s?

Looking forward to hearing how they are all doing. 🙂

Son is doing well. Grades are in a good place. That is important since it sounds like a bunch of the plebes around him are struggling. His mental state appears to be very good - he is an endlessly positive person. He is about to finish both of his PE classes for the year - boxing and fundamentals of fitness - which is one less thing to worry about. He has fallen into a good daily and weekly routine. He volunteered for his company Sandhurst team and loves that. We have already seen him at a couple of the football game weekends. Every time we see him he seems to have grown a little more and he is obviously maturing fast now.

Failed the first "advanced math" exam (first time in school life), got it squared away with tutor. Loved the squad and company. Sad not making to the sport team he liked, but training consistently with high hope for next year. Missing friends back home, so planning to come back during the Columbus Day to visit friends and family. Hope he will keep thriving and grow every day. Definitely taller and stronger than coming in at R-day. But still that rebellious kid not wanting to talk to parents more than the bare necessity.
