Noticing portal activity such as reviewing Letter of Recommendation, grades, school profile etc. Is this an indication that DS application is being reviewed and considered?
 
I would like to know too where you see that?

This information can be viewed in the left column of the Documents section within the USAFA Candidate Portal. Very unusual way for them to supply this information though as at first I assumed it was just the date that it was submitted (I didn't bother to check the column name 💀).

I have no idea whether this is good or not though as my documents were reviewed about 2 days after my application deadline (Jan 15th) and still no word from USAFA. :/ Don't lose hope though and keep your head up!

Also remember that a phone call is not guaranteed and that it may be some time before the Candidate Portal is updated or you receive official correspondence within the mail. Best of luck to you!

UPDATE:::
  • The USAFA Candidate Portal Documents Panel also reiterates that any documents available on this panel have been reviewed and approved. This is good news as it means that the Admissions Board has received your documents and has taken them into consideration / added them to your candidate profile.

Below is a list of documents received on your behalf and reviewed by USAFA Admissions. Documents will not appear until they have been reviewed and approved (the date shown is the date the document was reviewed/approved). For privacy reasons some documents listed cannot be opened (such as Letters of Recommendation).

  • Remember to keep up to date with information (Log into USAFA Candidate Portal Often) and you may even want to communicate with your liaison and just have them update you on any information they may receive.
 
My sons application has been complete since August, he received a Congressional nom in Dec. He recently submitted his 7th semester grades, and it looks as though the academy has requested other items from his school as well. Seems that when a document is reviewed, the date will reflect the last time it was accessed. Seems encouraging to me, but not looking into it much. I do like seeing activity with his application though!
 
Can you still update your portal even though the application deadline has passed?

We are in the same boat with our DS. If you don’t mind what other things do you see being requested?

They requested a new school profile and another copy of his senior schedule. Not positive but, looks like they also requested an updated Letter of Rec. from one of his teachers, possibly math.

How were you able to tell? By the date change? The only thing the has changed on my sons portal is the 7th semester transcript review otherwise crickets lol

Yes, by the date change and by additional items in the document section. When he initially submitted his application, the school profile was for the 2018 school year, as 2019 wasn't available yet. The 2019 profile has now been recently added, as well as what appears to be another recommendation letter by one of the teachers that had already submitted one. You can view transcripts/school profile, however, you cannot view the letters.

Could be nothing more than the academy requesting updated items.

I saw during my pre-candidacy that I needed to submit my 7th semester grades as soon as they were available, but I never had a place to submit them from my portal. I recently had my school guidance counselor email it into the admissions office. Did y'all receive some kind of a request or an update in your portal with a place to submit it?

Great question, my daughter is in the process of going in to see her counselor. Will the counselor know where to submit it? The same counselor submitted the others, should we assume it is to the same place

I had the same question, sent mine to the admissions office mailing system through my school's system and it eventually popped up on my portal.
 
My son asked his USAFA counselor if they needed 7th semester grades, he informed him to submit them electronically through Naviance or snail mail. The following is straight out of the "Instruction to Candidates" book.

" If
your transcript was sent during the first semester of your senior year, you must ensure your
high school sends us a transcript with seventh semester grades as soon as they are available."
