Hey everyone, I want to address two issues I've come across in my USNA app. portal. I couldn't find any similar posts about these problems. I also reached out to my admissions counselor and what she recommended didn't work (to use a dif. browser).

First, I'm unable to edit my school history submissions and I can't delete them. Second, I can't add any more optional recommendations, only fitness recommendation appears in the drop-down menu. My counselor says there's no maximum number of optional LORS you can submit, so I shouldn't be having this issue. Has anyone come across the same thing? If so, how did you resolve it?

* Go to USNA Admissions website and click the chat button. Ask the chat duty officer.
** Call your Regional Admissions Advisor.

I'm having similar issues with the recommendations section. I sent a request through the USNA website and haven't received a response back yet. It seems like all my recommenders received a request, but I can't see them listed anymore, strangely.

The instructions are not particularly clear concerning the "optional recommendations." To add additional recommenders, you will simply use the "+Add Recommendation" link located at the end of the list. You are limited to three. They are not "LORs" but your recommenders should have space to add text as they think appropriate.

I interpreted the question as a technical website issue. By switching to a different browser, the section worked properly on our computer and processed the recommendation requests. On Safari it either would not initiate the outgoing email or would not save the optional recommendation requests.
 
Everytime we hit a portal problem we switched between all of the major browsers on a windows, mac, and chromebook. If that doesn't work, reach out to admissions by email. We didn't have any luck with the chat feature or phone calls.
