Portal updates only once a day, right?

DS was talking to someone who is still here who didn't get in last year and he mentioned he checked in the morning and then again later in the day and his TWE statement was there in the portal. I thought it only updated once a day (though I totally understand checking more often...it's a sickness almost...LOL)

I heard that it was updated every morning about 6.30am. That seemed to be what happened during the application process. I'd be interested to hear if anyone knows different.
