I am considering joining an ROTC battalion but before I go through the process I want to know if there is a potential for me to be disqualified right off the bat. I've had two pneumothroraces within the past three years. After the second one I received a corrective pleurodesis surgery in March 2012. Would this disqualify me from continuing in the program? Furthermore, if I wanted to pursue a career in aviation would this eliminate me form candidacy? I know that waivers are sometimes issued, is there anyway I would a.) be able to participate in the program, and, b.) potentially become an aviator (15A) one day?
