PPW - How far can we go?

All good advice above. Plebes can't drive either, so if anyone has BF/GF coming along, something to think about. Plebe probably can't get behind the wheel of a rental anyway if not named, but for more local folks, something to plan around.
Crash, eat , do favorite online stuff, eat, crash, rinse and repeat. Maybe see a movie, but that involves getting back in uniform, something they will want a break from.
 
Moms and Dads - as much as you want to gloat over seeing your kid in uniform - save that for Sunday afternoon, back on the yard pictures. Your Plebe will not want to do much outside of the hotel as it requires getting back into the dirt magnet.

DMeix - you have a short memory about our Class of 2010 PPW - we got 1.5 hours away from the yard as our limit and an overnight. "11 is where they tightened up PPW.

Best advice - bring a laptop if you have one - your plebe will need their facebook fix.
 
Meh...whatever...all I remember from that weekend was a lot of sleeping, eating, and writing the menu for Friday's evening meal 100 times...
 
We have a number of female Plebes this year. Yesterday during the gouge session at our parent's club picnic my wife suggested that the mothers make an appointment on Saturday at a local Spa/Beauty Parlor. They can go together and have hair,nails, facial and whatever other magical and mystical things they do in those places. If the Plebe wants to do that of course.

Just had this picture flash in my mind: plebe in summer white uniform in one of those spa pedicure chairs, white pants rolled up to the knees, feet soaking in warm soapy water mini-jacuzzi, sound asleep...
Not much can be done with the hair or nails due to regs. The pedicure to work on the calluses that have no doubt popped up and massage aching feet might be of use. There are plenty of the usual places for that in the Mall and in various strip malls around town. Could be a good idea if you know your plebe loves that stuff and would give up naptime for it.

I would still bet crash in air-conditioned room in favorite old civvies, eat, computer cruising, repeat, will beat out everything else. Two of the female plebes we will be sponsoring this year told their parents they are ok, just exhausted, and can't wait to crawl between cool sheets in a hotel room for an afternoon nap after a good meal on PPW.

This is what we are planning for our Plebe.....room service, facebook, cell phone, hot shower, sleep, room service, facebook, cell phone, hot shower, ...... you get the picture! :biggrin: Last phone call he said, "Don't plan anything...I don't want to walk anywhere." We are happy to "obey".
