Just curious--Do plebes get the same liberty even if their parents don't show up for PPW?

Yes, your son/daughter will get the same liberty as other plebes during PPW. if your son/daughter has had a chance to meet w/ their sponsor b4 PPW they might be able to set up something with their sponsor.

Thanks. I figured as much, but just wanted to be sure

A lot of cadets (at USAFA and USMA, and I assume the mids do too) will go do something with friends if their family isn't coming. That way you get away from the academy still ;)

We asked our DS to invite roommates/classmates to join us for lunch/dinner or whatever to get away from the yard for awhile during PPW especially if they didn't have parents or sponsors in town. I'm sure there will be plenty of other families happy to accommodate.

same thing goes for I-Day. The newly sworn in plebes that don't have parents will be able to spend their last remaining minutes of "freedom" following the ceremony w/ Sponsor families and such that will provide them w/ snacks and last minute words of encouragement before beginning their plebe summer
