Prep School Offer

Congratulations!! My 2 cents, if USCGA is her first choice, I would for sure encourage her to take the CGAS appointment rather than USMMA because she may feel like she would be saving a year. She may not be thinking that at all, but just saying.

My daughter said the prepsters in her class are complete studs. She said it seemed like they breezed through 4/c year!

This is just an extreme personal opinion. I live in Annapolis near USNA. I know many students there and they have not been the happiest the past few years. The midshipman we sponsor regrets not choosing the USAFA.
 
Yay! Congrats! I would have her look at what opportunities are available after the 4 years and what branch she feels most connected too! Best of luck with her big decision. 🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸

My daughter at USNA says the same thing about the NAPSers!

Everyone thinks the grass is greener on the other side.

If those Mids knew what’s going at USAFA right now, they would have a different opinion and appreciate the fact that they chose USNA.

I am sorry to hear this. My daughter is a plebe currently and loves it. Both daughters have friend that is graduating USCGA and LOVED her time there. USMMA is close to home (so is CGA) and does have a lot of options that she likes.
 
Are appointments to prep school given over a variety of methods? My DD is not a recruited athlete. She applied RA. I'm curious if they do phone calls or email?

I am not a recruited athlete and I also applied RD and I just found an update in my Bear's Den offering a spot on the CGAS waitlist!

In case anyone is wondering, it was listed as DECISION STATUS: AVAILABLE BEGINNING 4/1/2024 and below that notice was a link to view the letter.

There are kids at every school who look back over a shoulder, not just Navy or Air Force, and wonder how things might have gone if they'd only chosen differently. Not everyone thinks they made a mistake, but in down moments people naturally start checking out the neighbors' yards. You just have to recognise it for what it is, pass through it and then get back to work.

Very well said. And I can't say my child is immune from such thinking on occasion. It's usually just a fleeting thought / moment during stressful times.

Yes she attended AIM so we knew where to find the decision. Congrats on wait list. My DD was a no.
