Preparing for BCT

Head north about 90 miles to Austin for the weekends - lots to see and do. Plenty of good food, night life, parks, live music...Good times to be had!

Can't believe I forgot about Austin. There's always something fun going on there. 6th street is one of the best places if you're a fan of music. And yes that's music in general not any specific kind.

one of the big things that will help you the whole year is realizing many times there is nothing you can do to change some BS rule by complaining about it. Just suck it up and deal with it. it'll make some stuff more bearable.

any tips for me for this summer at lackland? ;x

AETC or OPS?
OPS--have fun, try to get a Viper ride.

AETC--take the first week to figure out your role, then go.
Note what makes the good TIs effective. Ask questions when the trainees are at class.

jump in running. everyone (including me) starts off timid. don't be scared to put your neck out and show your TI you're there to participate and learn, but also be ready to get your @$$ chewed if you screw up. and echoing ramius, observe the TIs. I probably learned more from him in 6 weeks than anyone my entire cadet career. they know what they're doing and have a lot to teach.

and yeah, if and when you get a day off, hit the boardwalk, Sea World, etc, but also sleep. you work LOOOOOOOOOONG days

And the BCT training has commenced throughout the cadet wing ;) (atleast.. Executioners have)

See y'all in June

The Academy sends a small number of cadets to AETC every year to work at enlisted basic military training.
