My son is wanting a credit card before he leaves for BCT, does anyone know if there will be companies there at BCT for them to apply with or what his pay will be when he gets there so that we could apply for him one before he leaves. He wants one so that he can purchase his own airline tickets and so forth when traveling, etc. Thanks in advance for any help.

My son got a debit card for this purpose through my company's credit union. The account is completely in his name with both checking and savings components, but no credit card so he can't spend more money than he actually has in the account. When he signed up for the account, he also asked for a debit card in my name so that I can access the account if I need to deposit checks that arrive at his permanent address (our house). I can also deposit cash into the account, and if I were to need to, I can also spend the money.
