Milly, I say this with the utmost respect for your opinions, since in our great country we are each allowed to have and voice our opinions, along with our votes.

I suspect the mods are not trying to silence you as much as they are trying to protect your DD. The one you keep mentioning has an LOA to USNA. There are detailers at USNA who will be scouring social media, looking for things about your daughter that they will use during Plebe summer.

Your opinions are your own, but they are not necessarily your daughter's. I'm not sure how your daughter would feel if the detailers discovered you are her mother and used the ammunition found on this forum - and you've already given them plenty of ammunition.

I also agree with the mods that this forum is a completely inappropriate place to discuss your political leanings. This forum is for kids and parents going through the SA/ROTC/SMC process.

Thanks for this but my daughter and I understand this completely. Our nation was tested and failed. Her future is now different. So be it. She is way luckier than many others who now have a VERY dark future.
 
All I have to say is that Bill Clinton and Donald Trump were draft dodgers.

Can't respect people who hid when their country called them.

However, as service members, your oath is the Constitution. And according to the Constitution, the President is the Commander-in-Chief.

You have to respect the position, but you don't have to respect the person.

DD also has an LOA from the USNA awaiting a nomination. She told me she wanted to be a Marine since she was eight years old. Do you think she cares who is/was in the office? The future will be as dark as you make it out to be. Happy 241st Birthday, Marines. American military is the reason why we are here as a family and the reason why DD wants to serve, not who occupies the WH.
 
Always best to just stay away from public political positions while in the military or even considering joining in the near future. CYOA.

Our nation failed? Really, this is what a future USNA cadet would glean from our presidential election. Obviously you don't like the winner of our election and that is fine, but your determination that our nation failed is concerning for someone whose daughter will need to be respectful of elected and appointed leadership. If you don't like the next Chief of Naval Operations has our nation failed. If she goes to USNA and doesn't like anyone in the chain of command has our nation failed. I would also love to know about the VERY dark future you predict!
 
DD and Son in Law are both Captains USMC and USNA Graduates and Son is USNR. They serve their Country not the man/woman in charge. They swore their oath to the Constitution as I did not to some Commander in Chief at the time. I don't see how our nation has failed since it was a vote of the people? Dark Future? How is her future different after an election? Crap, I went through Nixon, Ford, Carter, Regan, Bush, Bush, Clinton and Obama and the Nation has not failed yet.
