What are the odds of me getting into the prep school with only a presidential nomination? I know I'm going up against 5,000 others.

What are the odds of me getting into the prep school with only a presidential nomination? I know I'm going up against 5,000 others.

There are roughly five times the number of new cadets who show up at West Point on R-Day than there are cadet candidates who report to USMAPS on its R-Day. I haven't seen any data that correlates the number and sources of nominations to the likelihood of an appointment. If you are triple qualified with the nomination, your odds of getting into West Point are greater than the odds for the Prep School. Aim higher!
