Great day today for DS !
Received 4yr AROTC scholarship to his top three schools as well as a principal nom to usma.
He has completed his application and passed CFA and dodmerb.
Should he expect to receive appointment to usma soon or not until the February cycle?
 
Congrats to your DS!

DD has P-NOM for USMA along with her 3Q Letter. The forum feedback seems to indicate that they'll wait until the February cycle.

She has an LOA and competitive NOM for USAFA. They may move a little sooner with their appointment notifications.

This is based on what others have observed as past practice. Things could change from year to year, so now she keeps on keeping on as she wrestles with her decision...
 
DS did not get 3Q letter, but portal was complete until the CFA video requirement popped up!
Did your DD need to do the videos for USMA push-ups and pull-ups?

No. She did attend SLE, and got green checkmarks for all her CFA categories except push-ups. The cadet counting for her had her at 18, but then the cadet supervisor came over and told her she had to start over. I'm not sure what she officially ended with, but I do know it was not enough for the green check. She then retested her CFA a few months later and actually improved on all her events. She decided to go out for XC to help her...which it did.
 
DS did CFA at NASS and passed, 60 push-ups and 18 pull-ups (max).
We spoke with his RC at all Academy day and he indicated that they were making many candidates verify their technique and reps on video regardless of where they tested!

Hoping that the 3Q Letter means she's past this stage. According to the letter she's on the NWL just waiting for the NOM, which she just got this past weekend.

DD checks her portal multiple times everyday...If I'm lucky she'll let me see it every now and then...she insists it's her job and she doesn't want me micro-managing her. Our "compromise" was her "allowing" me to join this forum. Darn these independent minded kids for growing up and wanting to be fully in charge of their own lives.
