I noticed in the pictures Web Guy posted that some of the cadets had many prop and wings and some had as few as two. What is the process? How is it determined? Why do some have more than others?

Just wondering. Thanks for any explanation given.

The 4* ask a specific upperclassman to pin on their prop & wings.
But, other upperclassmen in each squadron can choose to give prop & wings to a 4* in their squad recognizing their accomplishments over the last 9 months.
I know my 3* was planning to give out a few p&w to some 4* in his squad

Greentrees hit it spot on. I got 11 myself. It really depends on the upperclassman and if he or she wants to give you / buy you one.

I wondered this myself, my son said he got quite a few, including a "heritage" pin. Thanks for any insights. :)

Upperclassmen also give prop and wings to cadets outside their squadron. My daughter gave a prop and wings pin to the C4C from her high school who is in a different squadron -- just as upperclassmen from her high school did for her on Recognition night.

What do cadets generally do with extras? Do they keep them? Give them to family and friends?
