At our Senior class awards today... When the West Point appointee and 3 ROTC scholarship recipients were announced it was our Seniors who started a standing ovation, before the parents even had a chance. Made my heart happy for the future of our country and the many awesome young kids who will be leading us there. :)

Congratulations! It is great to hear that the military bound kids were appreciated by their peers. When I visit Navy, Army, or any of the academies I am just blown away by the caliber of the kids there.

I want to stop every single one of them just to let them know that I appreciate their comitment, dedication and sacrifices. Life at an academy (and college when you commit to serve) is no piece of cake.

I am proud of them all!

When people gripe about "kids these days," I usually take it that the griper is a malcontent that is not seeking to see the promise our future.

There are PLENTY of great kids doing excellent things the RIGHT way.

I don't limit that assessment to our young folks making commitment to serve our country; but those who do sure get a little longer applause and bigger pat on the back.:thumb:

cool stuff. Flyboy is right, lots of really great young people who have their heads on straight if one looks for them. They are not real obvious because they are busy doing stuff and not in the news.

Proud Monment

The young men and women who attend the service academies and those in ROTC are what I call the Best and Brightest in the country. They are willing to do what some others will not do and that is defend the freedom of the greatest country in the world, the United States of America. I heart goes out to you all.

Congratulations, to all the appointees and those who earns their scholarship.

God Bless and God Speed,

RGK
