Proud Papa

@Sealion II hello dad, does your daughter want to serve as a naval officer or officer of Marines.
She has mentioned Marines on several occasions, although this gives her mother quite a bit of anxiety. She does well in all her classes and takes several AP courses. I don't think she is engineer material. She's very much like me, broad knowledge on a variety of topics. We are a mile wide, inch deep personalities. She's very, very driven and motivated. And honestly, it's nothing we did as parents. She's been this way from day one.

If your DD feels that USNA is for her, she can make it happen. Dot all the i’s, cross all the T’s and she should apply for all nomination sources available to her.
Don’t rest on athletic laurels, though they are amazing and worthy of celebration.

Pretend it doesn’t exist and she should work the application and nomination process to their full extent. Be prepared for DODMERB and have ducks in a row.

This is an amazing journey. As the mom of a 3/C at USNA I can say it is a special place and a family that will envelope you and your kiddo. Good luck to her in finding her path.

Thanks Heatherg21, I hear you loud and clear. I'm a sponge right now so I appreciate the advice.
