During Beast Barracks do New Cadets see a marked increase in APFT scores from the constant activity, or does their physical condition remain relatively unchanged? And I am assuming PT is done every morning?

PT

PT is pretty much everyday. I saw one statistic that 47% fail the initial APFT and only @10% fail by the end of BCT. Now failing could be for variety of reasons. When I was there, if you didn't do a perfect pushup - it did not count. Also, the standards for the initial APFT could be more stringent to scare people. I don't think 37% get that much more physically fit, I think they learn how to properly do the test along with some increase in physical prowness. I've seen people do 100 pushups and not get credit for 45. One CC showed up with 16 pull ups on her CFA. She was @49% body fat and could not do one pull up on R Day. Me thinks there was a problem.

It really depends on what you were good at coming in to Beast. If you are already a good distance runner, you probably won't see much change, as probably 2/3 of the PT was running during beast. Same with pushups and situps, if you are already good at them, you won't see a huge change.

if you are a big weightlifter, you will see your numbers drop pretty significantly
