Qualified, but CFA Scores not ideal

Hi all,

I am just wondering if I am able to retake my CFA after having been "qualified," and if so, is it even worth doing? I passed according to WP standards, and as I mentioned before, was found fully qualified and am now on the national waitlist, but am afraid that average scores will hinder my application. Attached below are my scores, and thank you all for your help.

64' basketball throw
12 pull ups
8.8 shuttle run
76 sit ups
60 push ups
7:04 mile

I would just directly ask admissions or your FFR if you should retake it, or even if they would allow it. Then go from there. I will say that my DS is USMA class of 2027, and the CFA score that he was admitted with is equal or lesser than yours. He submitted the same CFA to USMA and USNA and got the check mark in his portal for both. Then USNA suggested he retake it even though he passed, and get a higher score to make him more competitive. He reached out to USMA to see if he could/should resend it to them as well, since he would have to take videos. USMA said it was not necessary (although I’m not sure if they actually said no.). He ended up improving a great deal and maxing out 3 components, but that is not the one that USMA had. My gut feeling is that if you have already been notified that you are 3Q, they will tell you they don’t need it.

I would echo the comments to reach out to your FFR or RC. My son did the CFA at SLE, his scores were slightly better but close. He reached out to ask about a retake and was told he could if he really wanted to but they really recommended against it. He is finishing his first semester so it all worked out.

WCS weights: Academic 60%; Leadership 30%; CFA 10%.

A low passing CFA score is extremely unlikely to make the difference between getting and not getting an appointment.

Reaching out to your RC for advice can't hurt. It would demonstrate interest, but I doubt the RC is going to authorize a retest for someone who already passed the CFA.

Current plebe here- I had around the same scores as you with more pull-ups and less pushups. You’d be better off spending the rest of your time in high school adding awards and achievements to your resume rather than focusing on your CFA if you want to set your packet apart from everyone else. From what I’ve heard and gathered, the CFA is not nearly weighted much at all, and is basically a pass/fail. Don’t sweat it
