Just wanted to send a post a note of thanks and encouragement. When I stumbled onto this forum last spring and started reading, I realized that my son's past back injury could be a big problem. I traded emails with Mr. Mullen (and RetNavyHM before him) and was given very helpful advice that allowed us to be proactive in dealing with the situation. When the expected remedial letter came, we had already been back to the doctor for a follow-up report and we were ready with medical records and reports, letters from my son's coach and trainer and a statement from my son about his physical activities, etc. We sent everything in and the turnaround was extremely quick-- and he is now qualified!
A big thank you to Mr. Mullen and also forum members who sent me private messages and emails and were willing to share their experiences navigating the DODMERB process. I am sure that being informed and prepared made all the difference.
