Qualified to BFE

@PattyP, last year my DD was notified on a Wednesday, her portal updated on a Friday and the BFE arrived that next day which was Saturday. I was the only one home. The postal carrier rang the doorbell and handed it to me. I waited 4 hours for my DD, son and wife to come home. I was tempted to open it myself!

@PattyP: USPS left our son’s BFE on the doorstep for a couple of days (we were out of town). It would be pretty hard to bend as the appointment certificate is in one of those diploma-like bi-fold cases and the whole thing is in a strong cardboard envelope. It would take some pretty rough handling (brick wall falling on it, zoo animals getting hold of it) to bend or get damaged. No worries.

Could something have gone wrong??? Was told of appointment and told that acceptance would be shipped out the following week, but portal has not changed from qualified to appointment? Have already gotten LOA, Superintendent granted waiver, everything turned in and completed, so just wondering why portal not updating? Any thoughts? TIA!

If your Congressman confirmed your appointment the BFE should be a week or so. Congratulations!
How do you know if our congressman confirmed DS's appointment?
Pattyp said his congressman confirmed his appointment, I assume that means he received a phone call. Not every time but many times the phone call from your MOC is the first notification of appointment, followed by BFE and portal update.

Ah ok. Thank you.

If the portal update status does not update in a week, I would recommend that you call the admissions office. There is a series of additional forms/actions required by appointees, but I don't know if those processes can start until the portal status is updated.

If one were to receive a qualified letter in their portal, and is a principal nominee, will they receive an appointment?

Can anyone tell me how long it takes to receive official appointment after your status goes to Qualified? TIA
DD's 3Q letter states that most appointments are made between 2/26 and 5/1/18. But often right on up to R day.
