Hey this is my first time posting on here and I am a candidate for the class of 2015. I am triple qualified and nominated from my congressman and still have not heard anything. Thankfully, it is not a TWE, but was wondering if it is still good that I have not heard anything? Also, about three days ago, my BGO told me that none from my district has been appointed to USNA yet, which is strange I thought that nobody has heard from my district yet. Has USNA held off for appointments for a while or something? I am starting to get very confused.

No news is good news as far as I'm concerned, it means there is still a glimmer of hope. Which state and district are you in?

For those still waiting to hear, I think that the following link will be an interesting read. It is a portion of an email from an RD of a Westpoint Hopeful poster and therefore only directly applicable to his/her region of WestPoint appointees and candidates, but it gives a little insight to the very complicated nature of the admissions process. I find this RD to be very thorough and thoughtful!

Free Electronics?

I was told by a fellow appointee that the USNA Class of 2015 may be the first class to receive the option of a free iPhone, Droid, or laptop with their admission. Also I overheard someone mention a computer that you receive and pay for over time. Can anyone clear this up for me? Has anyone else heard about this or something similar?

I'm right there with you on this! Triple Q'd with a nomination from Senator and nomination for congresswoman! Keep praying everyone! Also, you get close to $1000 per month but you only actually keep like $300 of it approximately, because the rest of the money goes to pay for things like your computer/ laptop etc.. Dont quote me on it because I might be off by a little.

Dont forget 529 Plan

Dont forget one could also use their 529 plans and have more take home pay by patying for uniforms, laptops, etc upfront. Laundry still would be a deduction

Laundry, tailoring, cobbler services, athletic tix, loan repayment, haircuts, uniforms, books, chow, etc. ... all regularly deducted regardless of whether or not they are used. Most Mids'll confirm, these premium priced services (NO blue-light specials) are THE major fund-raiser for USNA. Nothing to do but grin and bare it as they deduct and spend it. lol

It's all a paper transaction.
