Hello to All! I feel like I am the only one lost on this issue. I apologize for ignorance! My DD was offered a CGAS appointment but needs to complete her medical. She has received nothing, no email, etc indicating how to do that. (Nothing from Concord) The admission staff is on Holiday break now so I thought I would throw this out here again. How did all of you who have completed Medical actually begin the process?

My DS had a similar issue. Has she phoned Concord to see if she is in their system? If the answer is no then your only option is to back to your AO and let them know the situation. The AO had to submit my DS request twice as the first request didn't seem to get through to Concord so he never received an email to arrange his examinations.

We never got the email either but when we went to the dodmerb website our DS was in the system so we followed the instructions and got the appointments done. Now we are waiting on a waiver 🤞he also was appointed to CGAS. So you’re not alone, and reaching out to the AO will probably be your best bet!

DS rec’d and e-mail from DODMETS is less than 72 hours after submitting his app. Check your spam folders! The e-mail will be from DoDMETS NOT DoDMERB.

Keep in mind that CGA is stingy about being the agency to request the physical and makes the decision to request one on a case by case basis through the admissions process.

*per various Admission briefings.

my advice is to get it done right after holiday right after holiday. You can not lie but do not offer any info thatis not in record dodmerb is looking for anything to disqualify candidates not to qualify them.

I'm new here so please excuse my question if it's a dumb one. My DS received the DODMETS request but he's not been offered admission. (He was NOT early action.) Why would the Academy request a physical and optometrist exams before any other communication?

If they think your DS is 'qualified' then they will request the DODMETS exams. As it can take some time to get these arranged and get the results back they want to ensure that timing will not be an issue for candidates being appointed.

It a small, yet positive sign, that USCGA finds his app competitive.

did he apply to ROTC or other SAs? They differ where in the process they will trigger the medical.

Hold on a second...…...DoDMERB does not "LOOK" for reasons to DQ anyone!!!! JMHO, but I think you are off base putting this out there. DoDMERB looks solely at medical issues that the military services have determined "could" be or may become a problem. Military service is difficult, strenuous, and VERY physically demanding and having someone (especially a leader) who cannot perform the necessary duties is potentially catastrophic!

I'm MullenLE - Deputy Chief, DoDMERB. My MullenLE account is not working right now. Jaglvr may be correct and just the fact that he hasn't been offered admission, doesn't mean a thing. If an SA downloaded him to us, it's because they feel he has merit to be considered a valid applicant. So getting the DoDMERB is another step in the process...vs...they feel he doesn't have merit as an applicant, they would not have downloaded him to DoDMERB
