question regarding nomination in portal

My portal was updated yesterday with a nomination, however it doesn't say which senator nominated me. It states "Congress/Senator 2" the state and the date." Is this an official nomination? Also, with an LOA does this mean I should receive an appointment? My application is 100% complete.

It means you have a Nom. And yes if you met all requirements an Appointment should be coming. Give it Time. Can take a few weeks, especially with a holiday coming up.

Thank you! I didn't receive an email like I usually do stating there was an update to my portal. I also didn't receive a call, letter or email about it so wasn't sure!

Most MOCs so notify candidates of Noms, but not all do. It’s really the MOC coordinator who does all this and they could still notify.

I am in the same situation as techygirl with a nomination in my USMA portal, but neither my MOC nor RC has notified me. What's up with that?

It means exactly what it means. Your MOC’s only obligation is to provide the Noms to the SA. Actually it’s not their obligation, they don’t even have to nominate people. You can see your portal, you know you have a Nom. What more do you want? I know at USNA, admissions won’t notify anyone of their Noms, they simply are reflected on their portal. Most MOCs do notify candidates, sometimes the portal updates before the letters get sent and sometimes MOCs don’t notify.

I'm glad I don't have a reason to worry about it! I was just a little skeptical because my RC notified my friend but nobody let me know.
