what to bring
Big suggestion moms and dads and friends out there. Create your own version of the instant letter in the loggin book. I listed yes or no questions re: missing or not missing our ds's favorite places, people, foods and asked some questions about various events at KP. I gradually added questions such as "I love my DI" yes, no, maybe--all in good humor and jest. The letters were answered by my ds, and mailed back to us in a preaddressed, prestamped envelope. His responses were exceptionally positive. He was prepared for indoc. Make sure your ds or dd comes completely rehydrated. I can't express that enough. Moms and dads I remember my excitement, anxiousness, and pride. Your daughters and sons are exceptional people. Being humble will go a long way with getting along. Our son is going to sea soon, after 2 delays. We are excited for him. A huge adventure most people in the world will never experience. Hang in there, you raised them well or they wouldn't be at KP, trust they will remember all they were taught and then some, and LET YOUR KIDS GO.
