Unfortunately got way under my target score on this past SAT with a score of 1120. I have to apply with that for the nomination for now. I’m taking the ACT Saturday and as many more SATs as needed before the deadline. Just curious here- has anyone even been accepted to USMA or USMAPS with an 1120? Just some background in a white male, tri sport athlete, a lot of leadership positions.

In three attempts. My DD had a big increase in her scores. First was in the neighborhood of 1150. Got in on the basis of the third score. I do know of one football player that got in with an 1180. Bottom line, Keep trying!
Best of Luck!

Yes, but good chance that they fall into one or more of the following categories:
  • Recruited athlete
  • Enlisted soldier
  • Minority
  • Applying in a congressional district with few competitive candidates
  • WCS points from other portions of application overcome mediocre test score - test scores are only one data point, albeit a very important one. WCS score is the one ring that rules them all ;)
FYI. My observation of many test scores is that when there is a substantial difference between SAT and ACT score, the ACT score is almost always higher. Hopefully, you get a pleasant surprise with ACT.
