Sympathy for the long wait, which is quite normal. Rolling admissions for the SAs means appointments can be given from early on in the cycle to the end, regardless of how early or when the applicant’s submission was final.
For USNA, even if there is a principal nominee on a slate from an elected official, the candidate must be found fully qualified in 3 ways. Medical/DoDMERB and physical/CFA are fairly obvious if they are passed. USNA typically does not inform candidates if they are scholastically/academically qualified; that is the third element that includes all other evaluated material. The principal nomination forces an SA to give an appointment to that candidate, if fully qualified, even if USNA ranks tha candidate lower than #1 on the slate. Technically, the statutory language for USNA, different from USMA and USAFA, does not absolutely require them to appoint the principal nominee, but they usually do, if qualified.
It takes time to intentionally, thoughtfully and carefully review the hundreds of slates with thousands of names. They give each applicant a thorough review. None of us wants them to rush the process.
It’s still about 2 weeks until USNA’s aspirational goal date of 15 April to notify applicants of their status.
Fingers crossed we will see your screen name pop up in the appointment list.
