Still think the RA decisions will be released on or by April 1? The waiting is so hard and now with the virus social distancing. . . . . .

The address I saw the other day from RA Kelly said that although cadets were not at the academy right now staff were, so hopefully they will stick to April 1st as June would be too close to reporting day for many.

Scary stuff. My mother was excited to see Eagle in Charleston on her weekend trip, but she was recalled to New London before my mom could even see her. Hoping that won't be a predictor of my application!

Does anyone know if all appointees were notified before April 1 in past years? Or did some find out on the last day? Does the CGA also notify rejections and waitlist before the last day as well?

EA applicants were all notified by last day (20 DEC) during EA -- to include TWE/Deferments -- so it will more than likely be 1 April for RA candidates to include EA Deferments.

So all the applicants find out on April 1 or just the rejections/waitlist on April 1?

We don't know. We will find out BY April 1st. The date given for notification on EA was 12/23. Accepted students started getting calls a couple of weeks before this date. The Deferred/Denied were all notified on 12/20. So, the answer is you can hear anytime, not to exceed April 1st.

I figured as much. It seems like if you are not notified before that date, then chances are more likely that you are denied or waitlisted.
I don’t think that’s necessarily true. I think everyone will know by April 1st, whether denied, waitlisted, or accepted. I found out on the last day that I got in for EA on the day that was speculated to be for only those waitlisted or denied. The best thing to do is relax and wait... if you find out before the 1st, great. If not, don’t worry there’s still time.

A wave of appointments should be coming soon. Next to none posted on Coast Guard forum in February or March to date -- far cry from appointment spike on Air Force Academy forum recently.

It is eerily quiet compared to RA in nov/dec. with everything going it is no surprise. I am praying we all stay healthy and safe. Blessing to you all and our senior kids (and 1 C’s) who have had sports, prom, last few months with friends, and possibly graduation taken from them. You are all in our hearts!

Same to you and yours... stay safe, stay healthy! Here's hoping there WILL be decisions on April 1, and not an extended delay...

I'm sure the Admission's staff is working hard but also safely to get the decisions completed on time. I'm grateful to this admissions staff because they review each application received. II can't imagine the effort this takes, when there are 2000+ applications a year and so many good applicants. There are so many other things going on in the world to compete with their time right now...rescheduling/cancelling admissions events due to COVID-19, AIM 2020 applications, etc. If it does get delayed, I would totally understand why (just let us know so we aren't holding our breath too long)! Stay safe everyone!
