I recently received a TWE. I will be attending an out of state college and will participate in AFROTC. I am definitely re-applying to AFA, but I have a few questions. First, how similar is the application when applying again, and most importantly, will my ALO and nominations be from that state now?

I do not know this for sure but I can try to share with you some knowledge that I have. When I went to NWP all the students applied for nominations and their ALO from where their home address is. Since you are going out of state, your ALO and nomination source for your congressmen would still be your home address. As a fellow re-applicant I can assure you that congressmen/congresswomen's offices understand service academy re-applicants and conduct interviews through the phone or internet source such as skype.

If you just got a straight TWE and nothing else, the application is the same thing all over again. The only thing different is that you don't have to fill out the basic questionnaire. For those who received a Falcon scholarship, their application is a bit different. They don't require a lot of the things before since the academy keeps them on file.

Your ALO will be in your new area but like it says above, MOC is based on your home address. Save your portal info now bc academy admissions will not save it .
The very best to you going forward!

I think the portal does save a lot of information. My DS received a TWE for class of 2020. Receive an appointment for the class of 2021 in November. A lot of his information was still on the portal and show under his 2021 application (SAT Scores, HS Transcripts, Medical, etc).

Good luck to you. My DS did the same thing (but State school). Joined AFROTC. Received appointment. Heading to COS this June.

Does anyone know exactly how we go about applying for an AFROTC Nomination to USAFA? Are there official forms and/or a designated procedure? The admissions website is not very clear on how this works and I am currently unable to find the appropriate information.

My DS should be home from UT next weekend. I will ask him how he received his AFROTC nomination. I have no clue.

Did he go to prep school or college? Did he get falcon scholarship?

If it is anything like how I received my AFJROTC nomination, you will apply through your Senior Instructor. My Aerospace Science Instructor knew exactly what to do when I told him I needed a nomination.
