So how is the process different for college re-applicants?
1. SAT/ACT not needed?
2. Seems DoDMERB qualified result is valid for 2 years? So no need to do again?
3. Obviously teacher SOE will now be from college, so's the transcripts. Is it possible some applicants do not have Math, Science profs (based on major) and PE teacher?
4. CFA need to re-do? But with ROTC, cadre can give the test. If non-ROTC, can your previous HS PE teacher give the test?
1. standardized scores are always needed, and it does not hurt to retake
2. dodmerb is valid for 2y, but there is a simple form to complete to get this carried forward
3. SOE can roll over from HS. There are 2 more evals though. And 1st semester of college transcripts, in addition to all 8 hs transcripts
4. CFA redo yes. Same for nomination. Same for interview. However you can work with the RC and your FFR to get the CAR rolled forward if it hasn't changed. Remember a FFR is authorized to administer CFA also.
@bhopper has some good suggestions. For some, it's absolutely worth it to continue to apply until you age out. And if you do those and get in, you surely do much better in classes. It has been this way for a long time; the additional maturity and academic experience at a collegiate level will help you in many ways.
Other tips: Army ROTC and honors ROTC program from a different branch is a nomination source. You want as many as you can get. Lastly, consider your congressional district after you go to college. Does that open up more options? You can open a file for 2028 now, but I suggest waiting until June before you engage with the RC. Second step kits only open in June, and you'll want to engage with your current HS administration/teachers/etc to get these done before they go away for the summer.

How to Reapply to West Point:
1) Go online and open an application to the Class of X.
2) Our admissions team will send email updates to all candidates with open files. Much of the information is geared toward high school students, but we will put important timeline information up front so be sure to check that out.
3) Once the full application opens, your goal should be to complete all of the portions you can, as quickly as you can.
Documents that “rollover” from your previous application. You do not need to send these in again.
--SAT or ACT score reports
--School Official Evaluations (If all four were completed during the previous application)
--Employer Evaluation
--Any extra documents you sent in, such as letters of recommendation or a resume.
Documents Required for Reapplication – Complete these as soon as possible.
--Final High School Transcript.
Make plans to get us a copy of this as soon as it is available. You do not have to wait until your full application is open.
--Any new ACT or SAT scores.
Send us an official copy for any new test scores.
--Candidate Personal Data Record.
This takes 5 minutes to fill out. Ensure that the legal information at the bottom is complete.
--Request for Academic Information.
This will come from your HS counselor and include your final high school rank and other data. I recommend contacting your counselor to let them know that this request will come to them and make sure they’ll be able to “answer the mail” in a timely fashion.
--Candidate Fitness Assessment.
You must take a new test. You may test any time after the full application opens. I recommend completing this before you begin your fall semester. Set the date ahead of time with your CFA administrator.
--Candidate Statements.
Each year the essay questions may change slightly. I recommend making a few revisions to your previous essays, but not to over emphasize this requirement. Your previous essays met our standard. Do not drag your feet on this.
--Candidate Activities Record.
Update any activities from Spring Semester of your Senior year.
--Two College School Official Evaluations (SOEs)
Once your professors get to know you, you must submit two of these. You will likely have to make a very specific effort to get to know your professors. Plan ahead from the start so that they are able to give you a good eval. The SOEs can come from any subject, although we would prefer for them to come from either math, English, science or ROTC. I recommend submitting these no later than Thanksgiving.
--Employer Evaluation (only if applicable).
If you are working or committing significant time to volunteering, use this form to document that.

--Official Fall College Transcript.
This should be the last item you submit to us. Plan on getting this in to us as soon as it is available. You cannot become academically qualified until we receive all of the above items, including your fall college transcript!
There are two other pieces of the puzzle – medical qualification and nominations.
You medical examinations from DoDMERB are kept on record for two years, however, you will need to complete a Present Health Questionnaire through DoDMERB.
Nomination.
--You must receive new nominations.
--Apply to your Congressional Rep and Senators in the standard way.
--Be sure to check the submission deadlines for each office – they may change them and you do not want to miss the deadline.
--Nominating committees generally respect someone with the dedication required to apply a second time. Show them your maturity and your dedication to becoming an Army Officer.
--Your Army ROTC Professor of Military Science (the Lieutenant Colonel in charge) can nominate you using USMA Form 5-497, which is available on our website. I recommend handing in this recommendation as soon as possible, however we realize it will take some time for the cadre to get to know you.
