I poked around online with little success other than looking at the list of billets for SWO students from 2015-2017.

I was wondering if anyone knows about where one could find data reflecting the # of billets for each of the different areas (SWO, aviation, subs, Marine Option, etc) over the last few years.

(I know that they vary from year to year, but I'm just a bit curious.)

This data is only for NROTC:

FY14:
SWO 255
SWO (N) 45
Subs 144
NFO 65
Pilot 228
EOD/NSW 27
Nurse 70
Others 49
Marine 307

FY15
SWO 291
SWO (N) 45
Subs 127
NFO 63
Pilot 244
EOD/NSW 29
Nurse 55
Others 25
Marine 314

I don't have FY16 handy at the moment, and FY17 is not available yet.

Thank you so very much, sir.

I'm curious; how does one go "Others" through NROTC if you're supposed to commission into a URL community?

Color blind and got a waiver or they developed an issue while a Mid that NPQ'd them. Happens at USNA also. Assuming NROTC mirrors USNA closely, a few Mids can compete for and get selected for IP, IW, or even SeaBee communities too. I am sure NOLA can expand or correct if I am off base.

Some will be folks that were medically DQ'ed for URL communities after they arrived at NROTC, and they'll end up going intel or supply or something like that. Others will be folks who get selected for SWO options like SWO (IP) or SWO (Intel). A few go METOC (Meteorology/Oceanography). Once in a blue moon you'll get one or two going medical, but that was more common years back. For FY15, the 25 that went "Other" represent only 2.8% of the total number of new Navy Ensigns.
