Just curious whether anyone has experience with utilizing RV’s to stay in at West Point for graduation week. Pro’s, Con’s, Tips’s etc.

You could conceivably use an RV or camper during grad week. That would be at one of the MWR facilities off post - like Round Pond or Lake Frederick. It would certainly allow for a degree of convenience and close access with all the activities that week. You should check with West Point MWR to get more information. They will not allow RVs on-post at West Point during grad week activities.

Idk but that sounds a like a LOT of fun 🏕!!

YES! There are lots of opportunities for this. Do you have a child who is a cadet? You should ask on the West Point Dad or West Point Moms pages on FB. You rent space at South Dock or elsewhere or even as far away as Round Pond (if you can get South Dock, your kid can pop down to visit when he is free between events & relax). People do this for football weekends too. It is done through MWR.

Not true...It depends. During COVID19 times, no...but other years it is normal.

I stand corrected. Didn't think about parking RVs at South Dock or North Dock. I know they allow that on limited basis for football game weekends, but was not aware they allowed for multiple days during grad week. Thanks.

I inquired about the RV rental when my 2017 graduated and was told that my only option was off post at Round Pond. I was hoping for North Dock and would have done it if we could have been on post. I think it may be due to no RV service facilities, sanitation tank and water access etc...
I wound up renting a tent on Buffalo Field and had MWR cater it for the post graduation and commissioning ceremony. This was very nice and convenient with the shuttle buses running up to Trophy Point and Michie Stadium. Obviously this was just for the last day of grad week so I guess it doesn't help for the earlier parts of the week.

We did...It is actually North Dock not south dock. It was a lot of fun, Cadet could stop by when they had free time. It was convenient being on post, and besides the hike up it was very easy to get around. You cannot reserve until sometime in Jan normally but for us this year 2022 it was much later like mid march due to waiting for them to decide if they would allow it again, first time since covid.
It is dry camping though so you need a generator for AC, it was hot and it was neccessary.

Yes, it is dry camping at north dock, no services so your rv needs to be self contained. Some people had rented porta potties which in hind site was very smart, especially if your there for the whole week.
