Recruited Athlete - Multiple Schools

If you were a recruited athlete, how did you handle offers from other schools while you waited to see if you received an appointment to the USNA?
 
I think I understand the question. My DS has visited a few “plan b” schools. We’ve met with these coaches, who show an interested in DS, and we are confident that he would be accepted academically. We have not heard from USNA admissions yet, and in our situation, it would be difficult to walk on the team. When varsity sports is involved, the question of having a back up plan for “insurance” gets a little more complicated. A plan b school coach is trying get the right student-athletes committed and may be counting on you if you secure that school as your plan b. When you back out late in the process, it can cause problems for other people. No matter how things go in the next couple months, I’m of the mindset to be honest with everyone and let the chips fall as they may. Honesty is always the best way to do business.
