I recently assisted my son it getting an appointment to West Point class of 2013. If anyone has any questions just ask. He enlisted in January of 2007 as an 18X MOS(Special Forces candidate). He completed Basic and Advance Infantry at Fort Benning, Airborne School, Special Forces Prep Course and Special Forces Selection. 330 guys started out in his selection group, 110 made it to the end including my son and they took about 80. Unfortunately he was not one of them. He is only 19 and had no prior Army experience so he chances of getting selected were slim. In fact of the 45 guys he started the program with only 1 was selected. He is currently assigned to the 82nd Airborne at Fort Bragg and should be there until he starts West Point this summer. While he is waiting he plans on attending Ranger School and Air Assault if he has enough time. Good luck to everyone.
