Unfortunately I recieved the TWE tonight and discovered I did not earn an appointment to USMA. Now the question is will that effect me being admitted to USMAPS? The letter doesnt state wether I was 3q or not but I am aware that my SAT/ACT scores were not the greatest. To add on I am active duty. If i findout I am not qualified for that either I will open up a file for 2023 and improve on all aspects. SLTW!

I know that Soldiers are automatically considered for the prep school if not admitted, not sure if that's still a thing after a TWE. Your best bet is probably to reach out to CPT Mason. He's been extremely helpful for me.
Good luck and keep us posted! I'm still nervously awaiting word on my application.

I sent him an email but I know most places are enjoying the four day weekend. Id like to know soon so I can start prepping for the 2023 portal. Thank you!

So sorry Ski. Looks like you have a plan for Tuesday to learn more. SAT score-wise. For the 2021’s the average was 1246. Of course, you want to do the best you can if you end up having to apply again, you should allot time for taking practice tests/buy the practice book/use the free Khan Academy prep material. The more you practice the SATs the more your score will improve.
-you display an awesome attitude in your postings on SAF. KEEP GOING!

Also.... in your active duty schedule do you have time for online college classes? You might to a math class and an English class to demonstrate your success at college level work, esp if you were not an academic rock star in high school. (Of course, I don’t know you so hope I am not insulting you)

I agree, my performance in high school was dismal and I'm hoping a 3.9 GPA across 25 college credits will help make up for it.
If you've been in for at least a year you can use TA, it's pretty easy once you figure it out. Taking one or two online classes per semester at your local community college is relatively easy and could be quite a boost. USMA says that academics is their biggest worry point for us enlisted folks who have been out of high school for a while (4+ years for me).

Absolutely! Currently Im enrolled in an online english course, which starts tomorrow. Academic wise, my GPA was a 3.5 but my SATs were about 1500ish on the 2400 scale. Due to work and time restraints I didnt get an opportunity to retake any. Regardless I'm looking forward to seeing what happens.

The SATs are weighted...if you can get to a 600 on the Math and Verbal, you would be in good shape. Good luck with the online English course.

Agree-- great can-do attitude. Another way to help your file would be to take either an SAT subject matter test or an AP Exam in English or Math. These should be free to you as a soldier (see Education center). There are books-- 5 Steps to a 5 for the AP exam; and Barron's SAT subject matter tests. They show you can do the work. You can screen shot the AP exam/SAT subject test result and upload it to documents in your portal and highlight it to your Admissions Officer. Good luck!

BabySki, you a 12B in the 82nd? My DD was a 12B there.
Keep your chin up and take all the advice above. Start now. Even if you get into USMAPS it will help you there.
