I just went to https://dodmerb.tricare.osd.mil to view my application status, and it say: "Current Medical Status: Remedial Requested." I was wondering what a remedical is? Does it mean I don't fully qualify? I hope not...:frown:

Well, from what I know, if your status is 'remedial' (not 'remedical', it's alright we all misread things!) then they'll either have you redo stuff or maybe the academy you're applying to or cadet command will petition for a waiver for whatever condition you were remedialed for.

A remedial simply means they need more information about something on your exam.

No waivers are needed for a "remedial" - only for disqualifications.

It could be a simple administrative paperwork matter, it could be a request for some past medical records, or it could be an additional medical test to clarify, confirm, or exclude a condition that may disqualify you.

Follow the instructions carefully and promptly on the letter you will receive. It will tell you exactly what they want/need to complete your medical status report.

Keep in mind you may not personally receive the letter requesting the remedial. We waited about 2-3 weeks for my son's letter to arrive, only to find it had been mailed to the battalion and filed away there.
On the bright side, once we mailed the requested form back to DoDMerb, it only took about 4-5 days for his status to change to "Qualified"!
