During the welcoming briefing given by the Commandant here at West Point Prep, he told us that parents would join cadet candidates for lunch at the DFAC and the menu included, "Lobster tail, steak, shrimp, and crab legs." Lots of laughter from the crowd erupted. He'd told other jokes during the briefing. Upon the laughter, he said, "No, really. I'm serious." More laughter.
The last laugh was on the Commandant when we lined up for lunch and were treated to real lobster tail, steak, shrimp, and crab legs. The joke the rest of the day was asking cadet candidates if they ate that way all the time!
