Request for waiver question

Has there been anyone who was denied from a SA because of a waiver that hasn't been approved by the April 15th deadline? I think I'm going to be on this boat soon b/c my requested waiver has not been granted yet and all I can do is panic.

Denied by USMA last year, same situation. DoDMETS drug their feet on the remedial appointment and I was too ignorant to schedule my own appointment. I waited months and found out the waiver would not be granted because of the time. Reapplied this year and got waivers from 2 academies within 3 weeks. It just depends on the situation. So you weren't given a waiver request at all?

Yes, sorry for the confusion. The waivers were granted within 3 weeks of the request. My point is if you don't get an offer this year, reapply next year and it may be a entirely different story!

May I ask how you were advised your waiver was granted? Also, was your USMA portal changed and if so, to what?

The portal was updated in the official correspondence tab to say "Waiver Approved". My medical status changed from waiver requested to qualified shortly thereafter.

Shouldn't waiver approval be valid anytime before in processing day?

We just checked his file....his LOA was withdrawn due to a medical DQ...the waiver is still pending! My son will reapply again next year with new medical results/medical studies....good luck!

Our DS received a DQ on March 23 for a fractured foot that happened in Aug 2016. He is 100% recovered and plays lacrosse 5 days a week on his varsity team. We immediately started the process of obtaining additional records from the doctors and forwarded everything to DODMERBS right away. We too, are waiting a waiver and praying it comes through before April 15th. Best of luck to you and GOD BLESS

I received an appointment to USAFA and submitted all of my requests for waiver processing, does my file get closed if they don't grant a waiver before Saturday?

Sorry, I dont know the answer to that question. I have heard April 15 is the deadline for waivers and also heard that extensions are available for those who are appointed or WL.
