Required medical AMI states that I need a physician's appointment at a military treatment facility. I looked online and there are no locations within 100 miles and as far as I can tell online, the specialist I need isn't even listed. Can someone help me start this process? It's overwhelming!

Is that the only option they gave you? Usually you can see the DodMets provider or pay yourself for a consult. You can try calling Dodmets to clarify.

3/4 didn't specify but 1 specifically "requires a physician's appointment at a military treatment facility with a focus on military adaptability."

ok, I would still set aside a few minutes and place a call to Dodmets if you can. The only Dodmets provider for my son's remedial is over 2 hours away from where he's currently going to school, he did call them to check and they confirmed this over the phone. Do you have any military bases with medical services close by? You could try calling them to ask? It sounds like to me it could be a general military physician, but the appointment needs to focus on that. I don't know that there is a specialist related to military adaptability, I guess it depends on what areas you need to be adaptable in. You could try asking Dodmets about that too? Hopefully you can get some guidance from Dodmets on where to look for a physician, and what kind. I agree, it's a lot to figure out and not very smooth, but you'll get through it. Maybe someone else will have ideas here too!

Vivid memories of driving 150 miles for our specialist appointment and leaving at 4 am.
There is a bonus to using a military-approved medical provider - they understand what DODMERB wants, and will get the report to them quickly. You may get in sooner to a private doctor but you can't be sure they will do exactly what DODMERB expects and report in a timely fashion, in the proper manner. It may be worth traveling for IMHO.
Email your medtech at DODMERB for help getting a doctor that fits the bill. Good luck!
