I was just wondering if anyone could help answer any of my numerous questions pertaining to ROTC, NROTC, or AFROTC.
ROTC Nursing Option:
1) I was wondering whether or not I would have to accept my four year scholarship in order to be commissioned in the army. I received an almost full ride (based on merit) to school I am attending and I feel that it would just be unnecessary to accept the scholarship if I don't have to - I want to serve in the military however I read that if I don't accept the scholarship I can still be commissioned but I'm only obligated 2 years AD instead of 4 (I obvious want to serve more than two however I don't like the idea of being bound to this because I want to pursue higher education)
2) If I have to accept the scholarship, can I reapply for the scholarship if I transfer colleges? (I am currently enrolled in a T50 nursing program and was hoping to get into a T15 program)
3) If I don't have to accept the scholarship, does it look bad for when I am reapplying for the scholarship to a different school than I an attending (when I am trying to transfer)?
NROTC Navy and Nursing Options:
1) I also received the NROTC Navy option scholarship however, I am planning on officially declining the offer (I accepted the initial, non binding part because I did not think I was going to received the army ROTC scholarship) Does anyone know how I can officially decline the offer?
2) Since I plan on transferring schools, can I reapply to NROTC as the Nursing option?
AFROTC
1) This is the ROTC I have no understanding of. I never applied for a scholarship for AFROTC because I simply wasn't trying to attend any schools that had AFROTC or the school also had either NROTC or ROTC. With that being said, is there a nursing option for AFROTC?
Collective
1) I personally have no preference on any major branch of the military (Army, Navy, Air Force), I simply want to be a commissioned nurse. With that in mind, can I still apply (or reapply) to all three types of ROTC for different schools?
Thanks in advance for the help
