I'm currently an MS1 in AROTC. I recently hurt myself and was put on profile for 6 weeks by my doctor. In the paperwork, it specifically states that I cannot be administered an APFT during this time. I gave a copy of my profile to one of my cadre a while ago, yet my name is still listed as a person taking the RECORD APFT. Are they allowed to force me to take a record APFT? I currently don't have one on record for the semester. I've emailed cadet leadership and a higher ranked instructor, yet no response has been given.
 
Have you spoken with your cadre? I imagine this was an oversight but you should confirm that.
 
Quick question.....why would a civilian doc specifically make reference to "APFT" and not just say no PT or "light duty"? My understanding is you can fail or fail to take 2 PFT's for score in 4 years of ROTC. If you are a "walk on" not contracted don't sweat it until you become obligated, and as @kinnem says "talk to Cadre"....good advice!
 
My DD is the S1 at her school, which means she is the one who gets the information for cadets for being on profile, excused absences from PT, and makes the lists for who is taking the APFT, it is quite possible this is an oversight or breakdown in communication between the cadre and student leadership, or someone just didn’t remove you from record PT list even if you are on the excused from PT List. When in doubt - ask, if you are not safely able to participate, you will not be required to. Sounds like you will be good to go for next semester, so make sure to exercise once you are cleared on your own time to be ready.

Talk to your CADRE they’re there to help you. Here at my Battalion you have 90 days after your profile ends to make up the APFT with CADRE. Hope this helps.
