It get's him OML points so if he can manage it he should do it.Does anyone have a familiarity with the RORC Ranger team? My MS3 DS was asked to join the team but he’s worried about the heavy academic load he’s carrying. Any ideas?
My MS-1 had his first Ranger Challenge PT this morning. I think he was up at 3:30. I asked him what he thought since he said regular PT has been easy. His response "Brutal workout....but fun"...lolIt get's him OML points so if he can manage it he should do it.
There is usually a Ranger team leader that DS can reach out to for any questions.Does anyone have a familiarity with the RORC Ranger team? My MS3 DS was asked to join the team but he’s worried about the heavy academic load he’s carrying. Any ideas?
My DS is a few weeks in now. He has been enjoying it so far. Yesterday was first I heard any stress from him.I'm an MS1 who's been doing it for 4 weeks now, while it is alot balancing waking up so early and getting all my classwork done, I find it extremely rewarding and so long as you put in the work and don't get complacent, it's very doable.
I think that’s what my DS fears. He had his contracting ceremony yesterday, had some kind of drill after, Was hit in the head by a green baret’s boot during this drill and ended up in the medical clinic with a mild concussion. In the meantime he was late for his class that he really can’t miss. That too was the first time I saw the stress in his FaceTime call. The year is just starting! My DS is a few weeks in now. His Land Nav lab was pushed an hour later so it was light outside, this over ran his Bio class so he had too coordinate with professor a late arrival he has Chemistry lab in evening and 5 mile run for Ranger Challenge team on same day as volleyball tryout.....I told him no one said Rotc Cadet/Pre Med would be easy....lol.
Hoping your DS is OK and recovers quick! The life experience of actually scheduling and performing is invaluable. I am a member of "parents forum" on facebook for my DS' univ/freshman class and the topics and content from some of the parents is eye opening what parents think their freshman can't handle. My DS was his positive enthusiastic self the following day (yesterday) and sending me scenic photos of Miramar after his next Land Nav at 6AM. They bounce back fast. He looks like a fit, squared away young man already in our facetimes and is mil-speaking me so much I have to ask him explain acronyms daily lol. I'm sure the structure can be eye opening and takes some getting used to but so far so good.I think that’s what my DS fears.
