DS contracts this Saturday (8/27). Can't believe it's his second year. Also, what a difference a year makes.

QQ: Is there a delay with new contracted cadets getting pay?
 
No delay with mine who contracted last September but, naturally, your mileage may vary. Congratulations to your son!

If NROTC, and assuming the Midshipman has entered their Direct Deposit information correctly, it should be pretty seemless.

I did have a Mid who entered his dad's bank account info and was surprised to learn his dad was enjoying the extra beer money. 😲

Usual monday typing for me. ;-) It's Army. Hoping for the best. DW talked about it for a few hours on the ride back. Glad I had in the airpods ;-)
 
DFAS comes the first and 15th of the month. Usually every start of a new academic year it can take a little longer before the payments become regular. Your DS will be paid for 4 days of August and for the 15 days of September on his next paycheck.

It always comes through though! Beer is expensive so just keep that in mind.
