ROTC transfer question.

DS is still trying to get SA appointment. This coming yr will be third try.
He will be doing ROTC at same time, likely at MMI.
If he completes first yr of ROTC, and doesn't gain an appointment at USAFA, USMA, USCGA, Etc., can he transfer to another school, such as Texas A&M, and recieve 3 year ROTC scholarship? And isn't first yr ROTC transferable to other branches. (AROTC at MMI, and possibly AFROTC at Texas A&M???).
Trying to maximize options, plan "B'"s
 
Army ROTC will transfer to other Army ROTC units and he'll be able to apply for a 3-year scholarship. It will not transfer to Navy or Air Force ROTC; he would have to take the first year NS/AS classes at his transfer school before he can apply for a 3-year scholarship.

Just curious, has your DS applied for an ROTC scholarship?

No, because he went to Northwest Prep, which is one semester of non-college, and second semester at local college, which kinda left him in between, and unable to start ROTC. (And coming out of HS he did not, as he was determined to go the NWP route for Service Academy. Regrettably, we didn't get on a track conducive to a plan B. And otherwise dropped the ball on that. But, he is only just 18 still, so focused on plan B this go around.
