How much should I be running before reporting? I can confidently run 3 miles at about an 8:30 pace. I'm just not sure exactly what the PT will be like. Any information is greatly appreciated.

You need to prepared more to pass the fitness test than passing indoc imo. You only go through indoc once. But you'll be taking the PT test several times.

Three miles is a good distance to prepare for running a mile and a half. Do this 2-3 times a week. When I prepare for the army PT test (which is 2 miles) I like to run 4.

Focus on your running technique read articles on how professional runners run and try to put those tips to practice. Go to a running shoe store or meet with an xc coach to help you find out how you run. Good running shoes make all the difference in the world. Sauconys, Asics, and Brooks are the industry standard.

Also you want to work on speed as well. What you can do is 400 meter sprints and then rest for the length of time you completed the 400m. Repeat. Do the sprints on days you're not doing 3 milers.

Running is the event that creeps up on people the most negatively. So make sure you're eating foods that the body can burn easily. Drink lots of water.
